Ann W. Berry, 79, of Frankford, Del., formerly of Camp Springs, Md., passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md.
She was born in Keyser, W.Va., on April 14, 1940, daughter of the late, Raymond Wright and Elsie (Dawson) Wright. She worked as an administrative assistant with the U.S. Census Bureau for 12 years, before her retirement in 2000.
Berry was an avid bowler and was a faithful member of St. Ann’s Wednesday bowling league. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and socializing with her friends and family. She took great pride in decorating her home and gardening. Berry will be remembered by her family for her love of shopping, music and willingness to put others’ needs before her own.
In addition to her parents, Berry was preceded in death by her two sisters, Rayma Wade and Delores Wright. She is survived by the love of her life of 59 years, James I. Berry; three children, Michael Eric Berry and his wife, Susan, of St. Leonard, Md., Susan Michelle Czecha and her husband, Vincent, of Clinton, Md., and Stephen Wright Berry and his wife, Sarah Blake, of Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., with visitation at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, Del. Interment will be held privately at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, Del.
