William T. “Tom” Travers Jr., 63, of Long Neck, Del., formerly of Newark, Del., passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Del.
He was born Sept. 9, 1955, in Wilmington, Del., son of the late William T. “Bill” Travers Sr. and the late Elizabeth Via “Betty” Travers. He was a graduate of Brandywine High School.
Travers loved working as a disc jockey at local restaurants and bars in Newark and played music for a decade of University of Delaware students and fans of the Super ’70s and Awesome ’80s shows.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Linda Travers; son, Rhett J. Travers and his wife, Katie; five grandchildren; his sister, Susan VanDuyne; brother-in-law, Thomas VanDuyne; and niece, Sara VanDuyne.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Lung Association or COPD Foundation.
