Lions Club gives thanks
Through the generosity of our guests and the donations from our supporters at the May 15 “Sassy is Back!” Fashion Show Luncheon, the Lord Baltimore Lioness Club will be awarding scholarships to a IRHS graduating senior, plus a continuing-education nursing student attending the Rollins School of Nursing (Beebe Medical Center).
Applause are given to our fashion presenter, CraZy LadyZ (Ocean View and Ocean City), for an amazing array of beautiful summer fashions flattering to all. The Rehoboth Beach Country Club provided the ideal host venue, with gracious staff and accommodations. Further congratulations and thanks are given to all Lioness members, and in particular to Fashion Show Coordinators Linda Filer and Sue Dick and Ticket Sales Coordinator Sheryl Lewis, for creating a perfect afternoon gathering.
A tremendous thank-you to our donors: Cripple Creek Golf & Country Club, Patti’s Hallmark Shop (Millville), Treasure Island Fashions, Clayton Theatre, Giant Food, Good Earth Market, G&E Hocker’s Super Center, Armand’s Chicago Pizzeria, Frankford Family Diner, Hocker’s Super Wash, Salted Vines Vineyards & Winery (Frankford), Make-up Artistry by Helene Marie; special recognition and appreciation to Lioness Supporter Extraordinaire John Persinger for his unprecedented generosity.
Since 1990, the Lord Baltimore Lioness Club, under its motto “We Serve,” has supported not only the Lions charities but also local community needs (such as Food for Thought, Meals on Wheels, Camp Barnes, Luther Towers, Operation Seas the Day) beyond the scholarship programs mentioned above.
New members are always welcome. If interested, come join us at a future meeting, held the first Wednesday of the month (August through December; February through June) at the Ocean View Presbyterian Church Hall (67 Central Avenue in Ocean View) or email us at email@example.com for details. The next Lioness meeting will be held on June 5 at 5:30 p.m.
Bonnie McBride and Karen Lucas,
Lord Baltimore Lions Club
