George A. Esham, 77, of Millsboro, Del., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at the Delaware Hospice Center. He was born in Parsonsburg, Md., to the late Russell W. Esham and Marjorie Hutchinson Esham.
Esham retired from Delmarva Power & Light, where he worked as a lead mechanic for 31 years. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was member of American Legion Post 24 in Dagsboro, Del., and also the Hunting Club. He enjoyed reading, gardening, listening to country music, cutting grass and tending to his garden. Esham was known to be ornery at times, funny and playful, and loved to banter back and forth with those he loved.
In addition to his parents, Esham was preceded in death by his spoiled canine companion Ruby, whom he adored. He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Pauline Mitchell Esham of Millsboro; a son, Tim Esham and his wife, Susan, of Millsboro; stepchildren,, Sharon Kay Bunting and her husband, Dean, of Frankford, Del., Pamela Schoones of Milton, Del., and Russell Moore of Dover, Del.; a sister, Bonnie Goetz of Shaft Ox Corner, Del.; seven grandchildren, Kayla Peterman, Kelsey Esham, Mark Moore, Sean Moore, Justin Faulkner, Elvis Price and Shannon Price; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was to be held May 29, 2019, at the Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, Del., officiated by the Rev. Eddie Daniels.
