This weekend provides plenty of action locally
Now that the craziness of Memorial Day weekend is behind us, the beach community can move ahead with a newer tradition for the shore — the Bethany Beach Seaside Craft Show will be celebrating its 15th anniversary this weekend.
The show, sponsored by the Bethany Beach Cultural & Historical Affairs Committee, combines creative work by more than 100 crafters with the stunningly-beautiful backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. Shoppers will be able to view and purchase jewelry, pottery, home décor, glass, woodwork and more. This is a juried show, so the vendors were selected to display their wares.
The Bethany Beach Seaside Craft Show takes place on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Organizers classify it as a “rain-or-shine” event, and all weather announcements regarding the show will be made on the Town’s website at www.townofbeathanybeach.com under “Activities.”
• Also this weekend, on Saturday, June 1, the Ball 4 All Foundation is holding its 1st Annual Game Day at the Dagsboro fire hall. There will be a free Punt, Pass & Kick tournament for kids 6 and up, and an adult cornhole tournament. The Punt, Pass & Kick will start at 11 a.m., and cornhole begins at noon. In addition to those activities, there will be a bounce house, music and food trucks — provided by Hocker’s and Rita’s Italian Ice.
Money raised during the event will benefit the Russell White Scholarship, and the Pop Warner Lower Sussex Indians program. White was a former Indian River High School football player who gave his life in Afghanistan.
