Rylee Shockley of Millsboro is one of more than 200 student-athletes who competed for the Flying Dutchmen during the spring 2019 semester. Shockley, a graduate of Sussex Technical High School, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education at The Valley.
Shockley is also one of more than 650 Lebanon Valley College students named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester. Dean’s list students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.4 out of 4.0.
Shockley was a member of the women’s softball team at LVC. Needing to win at least one game against the conference’s top team, LVC delivered on the final day of the regular season and split with Arcadia to sneak into the MAC Commonwealth Championship tournament.
The Dutchmen got to the second day of the tournament but eventually fell to Widener in an elimination game. Overall, the Dutchmen posted a 19-22 record in 2019 with a 7-9 mark in conference play. Shockley was named to the 2019 All-Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Second Team and was recognized as team MVP.
A member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), Lebanon Valley College offers 26 sports.
