The third annual Indian River High School Soccer Boosters’ Hall of Fame induction ceremony mixer has been rescheduled, so there is still time for people to send the organizers nominations for possible inclusion for the exclusive honor.
The event was originally scheduled for Saturday, June 22, at the Frankford fire hall but has been rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21, at the same time and location. The purpose of the event is two-fold — it is an opportunity to recognize those being inducted into the Hall of Fame, but it also serves as a fundraiser for both the boys’ and girls’ soccer programs.
“It’s a fundraiser with the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams. We have one booster club that supports both teams,” said head coach Steve Kilby, who this past spring picked up his 200th career win with the Indian River girls’ program. “We want to get all the parents involved from both the boys and the girls. We also want the soccer alumni in this area to come to this event and give back to the program. We will honor some past players and others for their contributions to IR soccer.”
Nominees should be those who have made contributions to the success of the IRHS boys’ and girls’ programs over the years, and they are open to all past players, both male and female.
Tickets for the event cost $25, which includes a meal, as well as a silent auction.
