The Lord Baltimore Lions Club celebrated their 73rd Charter Night & Installation Dinner on Wednesday, June 12, at Cripple Creek Golf & Country Club near Dagsboro. Lions gathered with family members and guests to commemorate completion of a 73rd year of service to the local community.
Kenny Vincent the Lions district governor-elect for 22D, attended the evening with his partner in service, Lion Cindy Vincent. Vincent presided over the Lions installation ceremony and congratulated each of the newly installed officers. He remained through the evening to participate in the club awards ceremony and to congratulate each of the award winners.
The Lord Baltimore Lions Club Lion of the Year honor went to Lion Don Sherwood. Special recognitions were given to Lion Ken Crooks for 55 years of service as a member of the Lord Baltimore Lions. Club Chaplin Lion Norman Justice, a 35-year member, was recognized with a special Lions Appreciation Award for his dedication and commitment to his club.
The Lord Baltimore Lions Club Members elected and to serve in leadership positions starting July 1, until June 30, 2020, include: President Anne Gude, First Vice-President Tony Rinaudo, Second Vice-President/PDG Karl Gude, Secretary/PCS Janet Bauer, Assistant Secretary Beverly Straneva, Treasurer/PCT Don Stein, Assistant Treasurer Steve Straneva, Lion Tamer Don Sherwood, Tail Twister Joan King, GMT Membership John Monahan, one-year Director Alan King, one-year Director Ken Phillips, two-year Director Paul Bolton, two-year Director Tom Molnar, Club Service’ Jack Bauer and Communications Chair Robert Wisgirda.
The Lord Baltimore Lions Club service area includes Bethany Beach, Ocean View, Millville, Frankford, Clarkesville and Dagsboro. Club members meet on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Mac’s Catering in Millville.
