The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition is offering a new program called Young Survivors in Action. Young Survivors in Action is a support group that focuses on the issues and concerns facing younger women diagnosed with breast cancer.
The main goal of Young Survivors in Action is to provide networking, support and education to young women diagnosed with breast cancer in their 20s, 30s and 40s and early 50s. Topics include, but are not limited to, nutrition and continuing to live life to the fullest.
“My name is Amanda Perdue. I, too, was diagnosed with breast cancer at a young age. I was 28, to be exact,” Perdue said in announcing the program. “I understand the hurdles and complications of having breast cancer at such a young age. This is why I am so excited to be leading this program, focusing on us — young survivors!”
Perdue encouraged fellow young survivors to follow the program online at @deyoungsurvivors on social media, and to check out upcoming events on the website at www.debreastcancer.org/events or visit www.youngsurvivors.org for more information.
