The Dagsboro Town Council meeting on Monday, June 17, made it official: property taxes will remain the same for the 2020 fiscal year. The council voted 4-0 to approve the proposed budget for the coming fiscal year, with Councilman William Chandler absent.
The tax assessments for fiscal year will remain at $0.56 per $100. The approved budget numbers are available for the public to view on the Town’s website.
The council also discussed and approved the proposed water service interconnect agreement with Artesian, also on a 4-0 vote.
The agreement with Artesian will be for 20 years and the Town will be billed at the rate of $3.50 per 1,000 gallons of water, in accordance with the Delaware Public Service Commission. The rate is subject to change, based on their recommendation, from time to time thereafter.
Also on Monday, after an approval recommendation from the Dagsboro Planning & Zoning Committee, the council reviewed and discussed the proposals for site plan expansions for the Dagsboro Boys & Girls Club, as well as for Arctic Heating & Air — both at their current locations.
Finally, the council agreed to take the month of August off, as long as nothing comes up that would require a meeting. They will hold their monthly meeting for July and then reconvene for their regularly scheduled meeting in September.
