Tyzhir Morris of Millsboro has been named a student ambassador at Alvernia University for the 2019-2020 academic year. Morris is majoring in early childhood education, pre-K-4, with special-ed pre-K-8, at Alvernia.
The Student Ambassadors Program was founded to educate prospective students and their parents about Alvernia University, from both the academic and social perspectives. Student Ambassadors actively participate in campus events, generate student involvement and serve as a network for other activities and organizations on campus. The program is highly competitive and requires interested students to submit an essay, two letters of recommendation and complete professional interviews, representatives said.
Alvernia University is located on a 121-acre suburban campus in Berks County, Pa., and is a Franciscan university of nearly 3,000 students.
