Esther V. Jackson, 62, of Georgetown, Del., passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the Delaware Hospice Center. She was born in Lewes, Del., on July 15, 1956, to the late Prince E. Cannon and to Marian Cannon, who survives her.
Jackson was employed by Breaker’s Hotel for many years, as a housekeeping supervisor. She enjoyed working, watching TV and spending time with her family. She had a great personality, funny, to-the-point and ornery at times. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her father, Jackson was also preceded in death by her brother Timothy B. Cannon. In addition to her mother, Jackson is survived by two daughters, Ericka Collins and her husband, William O. Collins Jr., of Georgetown, and Dayna Taylor and her husband, Chad, of Millsboro, Del.; eight siblings, Princess E. Speaks and her husband, Nathaniel, of Frankford, Del., the Elder James T. Cannon his wife, Patsy, of Chesapeake, Va., the Elder Edward A. Cannon his wife, Jocelyn, of Millsboro, Ronald L. Cannon his wife, Judith, of Lewes, Charlotte R. Jackson of Millsboro, Dorthea A. Johnson and her husband, Eldridge of Millsboro, Patricia L. Rogers and her husband, Wayne, of Milford, Del., and Christopher O. Cannon of Millsboro; five grandchildren, Cameron B. Jackson, Raelynn T. Jackson, Adin N. Collins, Dawsen T. Taylor and Lundyn N. Taylor; three great-grandchildren, Laila Nhan, Kolton R. Ernst and Zoey Jackson; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her “grand-dog,” Obi, whom she adored.
A funeral service was to be held July 8, 2019, at Watson Funeral Home, with burial following at Old Field Cemetery, both in Millsboro, Del. Flowers were welcome, as are memorial donations to Delaware Hospice; 100 Patriots Way; Milford, DE 19963. Condolences may be sent online at www.watsonfh.com.
