Patricia E. “Pat” McHale, 89, of Fenwick Island, Del., died Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Gull Creek Senior Living in Berlin, Md. She was born in Media, Pa., to the late John Livingstone and Florence (Pinkerton) Edwards.
McHale graduated from Media High School and attended Keystone Business School before raising her family in Brookhaven, Pa. She worked for DeGrouchy Real Estate Appraiser before moving to Fenwick in 1988.
Enjoying the beach, playing Scrabble, quilting and attending Bible studies were some of McHale’s favorite pastimes. With all of her heart, she loved the Lord, and treasured time spent with family and friends. She was a member of Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church and the Ocean Waves Quilt Guild. McHale was a devoted mother, Gram, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
McHale was preceded in death by her son, Edward J. McHale, and a sister, Judy Furlow. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Thomas and her husband, Bill, of Westminster, Md., Terry Thran and her husband, Doug, of Dalton, Pa., and Cheryl Carey and her husband, Steve, of Fenwick Island; twin sister, Barbara Beam and her husband, Harold, of Fenwick Island; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of McHale’s life will be held at 11 a.m., with visitation at 10 a.m., on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, at Mariner’s Bethel U.M. Church in Ocean View, Del. Interment will be private.
