C. Ann Mitchell, 85, of Millsboro, Del., passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at Atlantic Shores Nursing and Rehab Health Center. She was born July 7, 1934, in Frankford, Del., to James Martin and Pauline Long.
Mitchell retired from work for the State of Delaware after working at the Stockley Center as a doctor’s aid for approximately 34 years. She enjoyed knitting, crochet and reading. She was a nurturing and caring woman with a big heart. Mitchell will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mitchell was also preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Mitchell Sr., in 2003; a son, Shane Mitchell, in 2010; two brothers, Harley King Long and Francis Martin Long; and two sisters, Agnes Daisey and Maxine Sharp. She is survived by four children, Paris Mitchell and his wife, Donna, of Frankford, James T. Mitchell and his wife, Ellen, of Millsboro, Trudy Cordrey and Joe Dorey of Bishopville, Md., and Peter Mitchell and his wife, Mona, of Millsboro; a brother, Throt Long and his wife, Etta, of Millsboro, Del.; a sister-in-law, June Long of Elkton, Md.; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
A viewing was to be held July 22, 2019, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, Del., with graveside service at Mariner’s Bethel U.M.C. Cemetery, 81 Central Ocean View, Del.
