Patrick J. “Paddy” Namorato, 68, of Selbyville, Del., formerly of Staten Island, N.Y., passed away on Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Oct. 8, 1950, son of the late Patsy Namorato and the late Catherine (Dillon) Namorato.
Namorato worked as a composer for the Staten Island Advance newspaper, retiring in 2005. After moving to Delaware, Namorato worked as a greenskeeper for Bayside Resort Golf Club in Selbyville from 2005 until 2017.
He was affectionately known as “Pop Pop” by his adoring grandchildren, and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Namorato also enjoyed golfing and serving as a Eucharistic minister for his parish, St. Luke’s in Ocean City, Md. He will be remembered by his family as a loving and devoted husband, dad and “pop pop.”
Namorato is survived by his loving wife of nearly 49 years, Joann B. (Duwe) Namorato; three children, Brian Namorato and his wife, Victoria, Daniel Namorato and his wife, Kelly, and Keith Namorato and his wife, Jeanine; six loving grandchildren, Nicholas, Christian, Ryan, Mason, Matthew and Jayden; and a brother-in-law, Gerard Duwe.
A visitation was to be held Aug. 6, 2019, at Melson Funeral Services, Ocean View, Del., with a Mass of Christian Burial on Aug. 7 at St. Luke Catholic Church, Ocean City, Md. Interment was to be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions to the Roxana Volunteer Fire Company; 35943 Zion Church Rd.; Frankford, DE 19945.
