Ralph S. Justice, 87, of Ocean View, Del., passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019, at Cadia Renaissance Healthcare Center in Millsboro, Del. He was born Jan. 12, 1932, in Ocean View, Del., son of the late Norman E. Justice and Helen (Melson) Justice.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1951 to 1954, aboard the U.S.C.G. Cutter Chincoteague. He retired in 1985 from work as a pipefitter for the DuPont Company in Seaford, Del., after 35 years of service.
Justice was a faithful member of the Ocean View Church of Christ, where he personally kept the maintenance up on the church van. He loved taking care of his own car and always enjoyed a good conversation about cars. Justice also enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Justice was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Evans, and his parents-in-law, James and Hilda Savage. He is survived by his loving wife, of nearly 64 years, Patricia A. (Savage) Justice; a daughter, Lori Koyanagi and her husband, Keith, of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; two grandchildren, Richard Belote of Rehoboth Beach and Heidi Belote of Milford Del.; a great-granddaughter, Layla Brisco, plus one on the way; a brother, Norman E. Justice of Ocean View; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was to be held Aug. 10, 2019, at the Ocean View Church of Christ, with interment at Mariner’s Bethel U.M.C. Cemetery, both in Ocean View, Del.
