Jovita “Betty” Quirolgico, 88, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019. She was
born in 1931 in Fabrica, Negros Occidental, Philippines, to Frank and Perfecta Bettis.
Quirolgico earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of San Jose—Recoletos in 1953. In 1956, she married Dr. Benjamin Quirolgico, M.D., and moved to the United States in 1965.
Quirolgico was a culinary artist of Filipino cuisine and an avid gardener who took great pride in her exotic plants and landscapes. She was also a skilled designer of women’s apparel but will be remembered most for the beautiful quilts she created for her family and friends.
Quirolgico was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Benjamin Quirolgico. She is survived by her three children, Grace, Stephen and Morris; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at noon, with visitation starting at 11 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at R.T.
