Earl R. Robinson, 83, of Dagsboro, Del., went home to be with the Lord and passed away on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019. He was born in Millville, Del., on April 13, 1936, to the late Frank Clayton Robinson and Pearl (Banks) Robinson.
He worked as a grain operator for Cargill and Mountaire in Frankford, Del., for 32 years, retiring in 1998. After his retirement, he started his own business detailing cars at his home. He was a member of Blackwater Fellowship Church, where he enjoyed singing in the church.
Robinson was also a big baseball fan, and enjoyed watching his Orioles on TV and going bird hunting. He was also a talented softball pitcher with a great knuckleball, playing on the Blackwater Fellowship Church League and winning the championship in 1981. Robinson will be remembered for his singing voice, his devotion to God and his family.
In addition to his parents, Robinson was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary C. Robinson, in 2018. He is survived by his son, Clayton Robinson and his wife, Donna, of Salisbury, Md.; two grandchildren, Aaron Robinson and his wife, Dawn, of Georgetown, Del., and Stacey Hutson and her husband, Tom, of Dagsboro; three great-grandchildren, Grace Kennedy Robinson, Rebecca Avery Robinson and Regan Emily Hutson; and a sister, Christine Long of Dagsboro.
A visitation and funeral service were to be held Aug. 22, 2019, at Melson Funeral Services in Frankford, Del. Interment was to follow at Redmen Memorial Cemetery in Dagsboro, Del. Condolences may be sent online at www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
