Raymond H. Willis, 48, known to his friends and family as “Ray Ray,” passed away on Friday, Aug. 2, 2019. He was born Oct. 15, 1970, in Wilmington, Del., to James L. Willis and June A. Loveland.
Willis was always the life of the party and could put a smile on anyone’s face. He was employed throughout his life as a proud and dedicated roofer, always letting people know, “Hey, I did that roof!” He was well-known for his love of music and singing, most times heard humming or singing a random tune. He was also a devoted fan of the Washington Redskins, and he had the tattoo to prove it.
Willis was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents. He is survived by his two beloved daughters, Taylor L. Willis and Dana A. Willis; his adopted sons, Justin M. Riddagh, Seth C. Haynie and Preston J. McCall; his sister, Paula J. Houser and her husband, James; his brother, James Willis and his wife, Shelly; and several nieces and nephews, whom he cared for and loved dearly.
Friends, family members and others whose lives Willis touched are being invited to a celebration of his life on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the AMVets Post 2 in Millsboro, Del. The family asked only that guests come ready to share stories, laughs and songs, just as he would want his life celebrated: in party style.
