The 2019 Rally at the Creek Committee this week extended their thanks to the many volunteers, individual and business donors who contributed to the success of the golf event and the Pink on the Patio companion event, which benefit the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.
According to the committee, an example of donor generosity was from a group of golf buddies, referred to as the Two Buck Schmucks, who donated their winnings to the cause. Many others also showed this same support and generosity, they said.
“The Two Buck Schmucks are a group of friends who wanted to get together for some off-season golf two years ago,” they noted. “There were only 10 to 12 players. They each put in money for a little ‘added spice.’ Players who don’t make their points kick in an additional $2 that goes into a fund for a local charity. The Schmuck Nation now plays year-round and has a player list of over 60.
As a result, organizers raised more than $35,000 total to benefit the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.
“Thanks to all who attended Pink on the Patio; golfed in Rally at the Creek; honored those who have had breast cancer and supported the silent auctions and raffles.”
