Worker critically injured in Bethany Beach fall

The Delaware State Police this week were investigating an industrial accident in Bethany Beach that seriously injured a Laurel man.

Police said the incident occurred on Friday, Sept. 13, around 2:12 p.m., at a residence that was under construction, located on Heather Lane in Bethany Beach. A contractor was on-site for masonry work at a residence under construction, they said, and a 62-year-old Laurel man, who works for the mason, was working on the second level of the scaffolding.

According to the DSP, the victim fell from the scaffolding to the ground below and sustained serious injuries. They said he was removed from the scene and transported by the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit to the Christiana Hospital, where he was listed in stable but critical condition.
