Robert Henry ‘Bob’ Davis, 84

Robert Henry “Bob” Davis, 84, passed away peacefully at home in Bethany Beach, Del., of congestive heart failure, on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019. He was born in Washington, D.C.

Davis attended Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Md., served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee and worked for the Government Printing Office for more than 40 years. For many of those years, he lived in Silver Spring, where he held coaching positions with Cissel Saxon American Legion Post 41, as well as with various baseball, softball and football teams for the Wheaton Boys Club.

After retiring from the GPO, he and his wife, Mary, moved to Bethany Beach, where he was a member of St. Martha’s Episcopal Church and was active with the Lord Baltimore Lions Club and The Way Home.

In addition to his wife, Mary, Davis is survived by his son, Michael Davis and his wife, Fran; daughter, Kelly Browning and her husband, Michael; stepson, Christian Miller; stepdaughter, Kelly McGuire and her husband, Patrick; and seven grandchildren, Jessica, Jenna, Kassidy, Jack, Daniel, Emily and Graham.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at noon at St. Martha’s Episcopal Church in Bethany Beach, Del., with a reception immediately following.
