Lord Baltimore Lions plan information session for potential members, Jan. 16

The Lord Baltimore Lions Club has scheduled an “Information Session for Prospective Members” on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the South Coastal Library, located at 43 Kent Avenue in Bethany Beach.

The session will be hosted by a few Lions who will be there to talk to any interested adults and answer any questions they have about serving as a possible member Lion. The session is an open format to accommodate interested and busy adults, whether they have only five minutes that evening, 10 minutes or even an hour.

The Lord Baltimore Lions have served the communities of Bethany Beach, Ocean View, Millville, Clarkesville, Dagsboro and Frankford since 1946. The members are adult men and women who mainly live in the area and bring unique skills, along with a collective commitment to make a positive impact on this community and beyond.

The Lord Baltimore Lions Club focus areas include: vision, support for youth, diabetes awareness, combating hunger and supporting the environment. The club and its members have responded to other evolving community needs the past few years and actively developed plans and initiatives to raise awareness of opioid addiction, drug misuse and service to the homeless.

According to Lion John Monahan, Lord Baltimore Lions Club member chair, “The session on Jan. 16 will be informal and provide opportunity for men and women to visit with a few Lions and learn more about what our club is like, what some of our service projects are and how we serve our community. We will have information available for you and we want to listen to you and welcome your ideas.”

All interested adults are welcomed to visit anytime between 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020.
