Hearing set for Feb. 6 on proposed abandonment of part of Pot-Nets Road
The Delaware Department of Transportation announced on Feb. 5 that it would hold a public hearing on Thursday, Feb. 6, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Pot-Nets Lakeside Community Center, on the proposed abandonment and vacation of an improved portion of Pot-Nets Road in Pot-Nets Bayside in Long Neck.
DelDOT officials said that while it currently has maintenance control of the improved portion of Pot-Nets Road at the intersection of Pot-Nets Road and Long Neck Road, the community property owner has petitioned DelDOT to consider the vacation and abandonment of the public right-of-way on the improved portion of Pot-Nets Road, measuring approximately 50 feet wide by 3,852 feet long, which DelDOT said has ceased to be of necessity to the highway system.
A brief question-and-answer session will be held from 4 to 4:50 p.m. that night, with public comments concerning the matter to be received promptly at 5 p.m.
