Wayne F. Hitchens, 76, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Clarksville, Del., and Seaford, Del., passed away and went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017. He was born May 26, 1941, in Choptank, Md., son of the late Jesse Hitchens and the late Phyllis (McDonald) Hitchens. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965, during the Vietnam War.

Jeanne P. Hoban, 87, of Frankford, Del., died at home on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017. She was born in Dalton, Pa., daughter of the late Roy and Margaret (Love) Purdon.

Hoban was a retired daycare provider.

John A. McCloud, 65, of Fenwick Island, Del., died Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. He was born in Wilmington, Del., son of the late Francis R. McCloud and Helen M. (Clermont) McCloud.

Daphne Anne “Dee” Beckman, 75, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Mount Airy, Md., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at Christiana Care in Newark, Del., while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New York City, N.Y., on May 19, 1942, daughter of the late Evelyn (Comyns) Sheffey.

Joan A. Flemister, 81, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Baltimore, Md., passed away on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Lewes, Del. She was born on Monday, Jan. 27, 1936, in Baltimore, Md., daughter of the late Joseph Wargo and Agnes (Stonis) Wargo.

Jack P. Johnson, 68

Jack P. Johnson, 68, of Millsboro, Del., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, in the care of his family and Delaware Hospice. He was born Aug. 27, 1949, to the late Preston Johnson and to Faye King Johnson, who survives him.

Stephen J. Kolbeck, 65

Stephen J. Kolbeck, 65, of Dagsboro, Del., died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. He was born in Pittston, Pa., son of the late Joseph Kolbeck and Ann (Grabowsky) Kolbeck.

Anyone who knew Kolbeck knew of his love of music and of his being on the road with his trucking business for many years. He also was a former member of the Moose Lodge.

Jacqueline M. “Jackie” Lisiewski, 78, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Aston, Pa., passed away at her home, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017. She was born Aug. 27, 1939, in Kulpmont, Pa., daughter of the late John Zydanowicz and Sabina (Gzienisiewicz) Zydanowicz.

Elizabeth M. ‘Betty’ Mears, 83

Elizabeth M. “Betty” Mears, 83, of Millsboro, Del., passed away Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. She was born in Millsboro, Del., on March 12, 1934, daughter of the late Bill Atkins and Mary E. (Donoway) Atkins. Mears in 1996 retired from work as a Sussex County 911 operator, with 20 years of service.

Eric Kandrashoff, 69, passed peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, in his home. He was born in Daytona Beach, Fla., son of the late Edward Kandrashoff and Rita (Berggren) Kandrashoff.

Kandrashoff was retired from the Secret Service, having been appointed to Uniform Division 121899 for 28 years, and protected six former U.S. presidents.

Robert J. ‘Bob’ Webb Sr., 65

Robert J. “Bob” Webb Sr., 65, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at his home. He was born Nov. 15, 1951, in Chester, Pa., on to the late William H. Webb and Anna (Janusiewicz) Webb.

Webb graduated from Saint James Catholic High School, where he played basketball. He was employed by Wonder Bread and also Frito-Lay before retiring. He was an avid Eagles fan.

Conrad D. “Biff, “Connie” or “Bear” Bittenbender Jr., 82, of Selbyville, Del., died Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at home. He was born in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Conrad D. Bittenbender Sr. and Ann Rita (Taylor) Keating, and stepson to Earl Keating and to June Bittenbender.
