Mary C. Presley, 93, of Selbyville, Del., died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at home.

Presley had lived in the area since 2001, coming from LaVale, Md. She was a member of the LaVale Baptist Church and Victory Baptist Church in Selbyville. She and her husband were devoted to helping the needy and helping people in times of need.

Leonard A. Jaskiewicz, 79, of Dagsboro, formerly of Arlington, Va., died Sept. 20, 2006, at home.

Helen ‘Lou’ White, 62

Helen “Lou” White, 62, of Pittsville, Md., died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md.

White was a yacht upholsterer for Maxum Marine and a co-owner, along with her husband, David, of the Pittsville Dinette. She enjoyed work, racing, collecting dolls and making candy.

Michael Tracey White, 39

Michael Tracey White, 39, of Salisbury, Md., died at Atlantic General Hospital on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006. Born in Salisbury, White was known throughout the area as a professional musician, performing solo, or with saxophonist Joe Smooth or drummers Chuck de Martin or Joe Mama, or as the frontman for swing/rockabilly act Michael and the Little Professors.

Kathleen Kollock, 90

Kathleen Kollock, 90, of Millsboro died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md.

Elbert B. Esham, 85

Elbert B. Eshamn, 85, of Bishopville, Md., died peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at home.

Born in St. Martin’s Neck, he was the youngest son of Daniel W. Esham and Eva M. Brasure Esham. A devoted husband and father, he enjoyed working the family farms, raising chickens, hogs and, at one time, cattle, while tilling his crops. In his younger years, he had also been an avid hunter.

Stanley J. Babiarz Jr., 73, of Lewes, Del., died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.

James L. Smith, 75

James L. Smith, 75, of Dagsboro, formerly of Potomac, Md., died in Georgetown on Monday, July 10, 2006. He was a retired deputy administrator for the Packers and Stockyards Administration of the USDA with over 30 years of service.

Mark W. Faulkner, 41

Mark W. Faulkner, 41, of Georgetown, Del., died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford.

Mark loved fishing and hunting. He was an avid bass fisherman; he fished in tournaments with his son Justin. He was a wonderful, caring son, husband and father, family members said.

Sarah A. Tyler, 79

Sarah A. Tyler, 79, of Frankford, Del., died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at Green Valley Terrace, Millsboro. Tyler was a missionary with her church. She loved to go to the Pyle Center and loved to go to church.

She is survived by her friends Mary and Roosevelt Middleton and her church family.

Anga Lee ‘Angie’ Brittingham, 64

Anga Lee “Angie” Brittingham, 64, of Dagsboro, formerly of Gaston, S.C., died Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. She was a retail clerk serving in retail sales and grocery stores.

She loved to play cards, to read and to watch Westerns. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Swanska, S.C.

James R. Derickson, 77, of Selbyville and Naples, Fla., died July 30, 2006, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md.

Thurman J. Bodley Jr., 82

Thurman J. Bodley Jr., 82, of Whaleyville, Md., died July 21, 2006, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. He was a retired district manager for Coca Cola.

He was a member of Masons, the Scottish Rite, the Valley of Salisbury and VFW Post 8276.

Burton W. Toomey, Jr. 66

Burton W. Toomey Jr., 66, of Millville, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.

Toomey retired in September 2005 as a maintenance supervisor for Coastal Resort. He was an Army veteran with two years of foreign service. He was a member of VFW Post 7234 Ocean View, and Dagsboro Post 24 American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading.

Susannah I. Butz, 87

Susannah I. Butz, 87, of Lewes, died on July 30, 2006, at home.

In Lewes, Butz enjoyed many classes at the Southern Delaware Academy of Lifelong Learning and was interested in a worldwide correspondence, bridge, literature, music, nature and painting.

Mary M. Joyner, 62, of Millsboro, formerly of Baltimore, Md., died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at home. She was a customer-service representative, having worked her life in the banking industry, and retired from Nationsbank after many years of service.

She was affiliated with St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Baltimore, Md.

James L. Smith of Dagsboro, and formerly of Potomac, Md., died July 10, 2006, at Harrison House in Georgetown. He was a retired deputy administrator for the Packers and Stockyards Administration of the USDA.

He served as a first lieutenant with the U.S. Army in the infantry in Korea.

Robert James “Bob” Hudson Sr., 62, a resident for 10 years of Lexington Park and Mechanicsville, Md., died July 21, 2006.

Atkins was retired from Melvin Joseph Inc. He was a life member of the Mid Sussex Ambulance Squad. He loved fishing, hunting, and his grandchildren.

William S. Cropper IV, 24, of Roxana, died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. Cropper was the son of the late William S. Cropper III, who died in 2003. He was an apprentice electrician with Royal Plus Electric in West Ocean City, Md. Cropper was a 2000 graduate of Sussex Tech. He loved spending time with his niece, Jenna.

McGue was a floral designer for the Baltimore-Washington area.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Charlie Webb; his niece, and nephew-in-law, Jennifer and Craig Jeffries; grand-nieces Abigail and Gabrielle Jeffries, his Aunt Virginia Long and cousins.

Ronald J. Carrara, 62, of Selbyville, died Monday, July 17, 2006 at home.

He had been Verizon technician for many years.

He had been a member of St. Lukes Catholic Church in Ocean City and a member of the Ocean City American Legion Post 166.

He is survived by his wife, Margo M. Carrara; two daughters, Heather Cain and Melissa Wioskowski; one son, Chris Carrara; and three grandchildren.

Peter B. Milloy, 80, died on Saturday, July 8, 2006. He was a former automobile dealer and lease company owner. He was nationally recognized for used car expertise. He served on the National Advisory Board for the Red Book for many years.

James B. “Jim” Caine Jr., 83, died Thursday, July 6, 2006, at Atlantic General Hospital, Berlin, Md. He was a graduate if Delaware City High School, Washington College (with a bachelor’s degree in accounting) and University of Chicago, where he earned a master’s degree in accounting).
