The Sussex County Association of Realtors (SCAOR) released first-quarter sales numbers last week that they said show a continuously strengthening real estate market in Delaware’s southernmost county — stronger than even 2012, they said.

The Sussex County Association of Realtors (SCAOR) is seeking nominations for the organization’s annual Realtor of the Year award. The award, which recognizes a Sussex County Realtor who has exemplified superior customer service and overall excellence during the course of the last five years, is given each year by the county’s only real estate trade organization.

ResortQuest Real Estate announced this week that Michael Kappes has joined the firm’s Bethany Beach office on Coastal Highway.

The 2013 rental season is shaping up to be a plus for the local economy. And with the trickle-down effect, that should be good news to the many cleaning companies, equipment rental companies, restaurants and stores in the area that depend on the tourist season to make their living.

Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty recently announced its top Realtors for 2012. Receiving honors were Kim Hamer as the company’s overall top producer for the year, followed by Jenn and Brian Barrows, Matt Brittingham, Mariya and Dustin Oldfather, and Paul Maltaghati.

New septic regulations proposed to take effect in the coming months have Sussex County Realtors concerned over possible long-term ramifications to the local real estate industry, as well as the overall economy.
