3rd Annual Shredding Event to be held Saturday
The 3rd Annual Shredding Event will take place on Saturday, April 28, in the parking lot of Banks Wines & Spirits. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and organizers encourage visitors to bring canned food donations for the Food Bank of Delaware.
The Food Bank provides assistance to more than 241,000 Delawareans each year, and they distributed 7.7 million pounds of food last year alone. They provided 405,000 meals to children last year.
As for the shredding itself, organizers say it is free and open to the public. Any documents and senisitive papers are welcome to be destroyed. Not only is shredding documents a good way to avoid identity theft, but it is also environmentally friendly.
Going Green on Delmarva, published by the Coastal Point, is one of the sponsors of the event, as is Loftus Wealth Strategies, Banks Wines & Spirits, Sedona, Heather’s Homeworks, La Vita Bella Day Spa, the Law Offices of Scott and Shuman, P.A. and M Insurance Services.
Participants are limited to four boxes of documents to be shredded, but not much else.
