BREAKING NEWS: Mosquito spraying planned throughout area

Weather permitting; the Mosquito Control Section of the State of Delaware is planning insecticide application during daylight hours on Wednesday, June 10, and Thursday, June 11, 2009. Application of Altosid 20% (Methoprene) are to take place with a helicopter to control mosquito larva in the following areas: in and near Slaughter Beach, Lewes, Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, South Bethany, Fenwick, Primehook Beach and Broadkill Beach. All insecticides to be used are registered with the USEPA for mosquito control and will be applied according to USEPA approved label instructions, officials said. USEPA has determined that the insecticides to be used do not pose unreasonable risks to human health, wildlife or the environment.
