Editorial — We thank you all for your support in 2017

Dear readers and advertisers,

Let us start with offering our most sincere “Thank you” to each and every one of you. Without the support of our advertisers, we would not be able to put out this free paper every week. Without our readers, we’d have no need to put out this paper every week.

This has been another year of growth at the Coastal Point, as we have been fortunate enough to grow alongside this community that we all love so much. We have seen some familiar faces leave our office, and welcomed some new, and we have continued to work on our digitial products, from our smartphone app to our website.

This has been an interesting year, both locally and nationally. Politics has created a larger divide in this country and community than we have seen in generations, and there doesn’t seem to be any end in sight to the partisan bickering that is filling our social media pages or letters to the editor.

We have attempted to “stay in our lane” in regards to providing you unbiased coverage of the people and events of this area, and vow to put even more energy into staying neutral next year. We owe you unfiltered, fair coverage at all times.

We thank you for your support, and wish you a great 2018.

— Susan Lyons, Darin McCann and the staff of the Coastal Point newspaper
