Francis Paul ‘Frank’ Bryson, 94

Francis Paul “Frank” Bryson, 94, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Wilmington, Del., passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at home. He was born on Feb. 4, 1923, in Wilmington, Del., and was a graduate of Salesianum High School.

Bryson was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy, after which he trained to become a professional photographer and owned Brooks Studio in Wilmington. He returned to active military service with the Delaware National Guard (DNG). After retiring from active service, he and his wife, Cassie, moved to Ocean View to work as civilians at the DNG Bethany Beach training facility for many faithful years. The Guard became his second family.

He will always be remembered as a strong man with a quick wit and sense of humor.

Bryson was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, D. Kathryn “Cassie” Bryson, and a sister, Mary Carter, wife of Harry, of Wilmington. He is survived by his four children, Karen Wilson and her husband, Bill, of Millville, Del., Bruce Bryson and his wife, Sandy, of Hockessin, Del., Cathy Bryson of Florida, and Kurt Bryson and his wife, Rhonda, of Middletown, Del.; a sister, Margaret Ann Houser, wife of Dutch, of Wilmington, Del.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Bryson’s life was scheduled for Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at Melson Funeral Services in Ocean View, Del., with interment at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, Del.
