Harris Teeter at Salt Pond to to open March 31

Harris Teeter will open its new store near Bethany Beach in the coming weeks, welcoming more than 60 associates to the new location. The store is located in Salt Pond Plaza and is scheduled to open on Wednesday, March 31, following a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. that day.

Harris Teeter will bring its Farmers Market produce; a full-service meat department with USDA Rancher beef, HT Reserve Angus Beef and HT Naturals Natural Beef; Fishermans Market Seafood; and Fresh Foods Market Deli/Bakery items, along with an extensive selection of national brand and private label products to the families surrounding the new store site.

To celebrate the grand opening, the company will also host a variety of grand-opening events on the first three weekends following the opening.

On the first grand opening weekend, Harris Teeter is bringing the e-VIC Mobile to the store. During select times on Friday, April 2, through Sunday, April 4, customers will have a chance to sign-up for e-VIC — a free service that notifies customers when items they regularly buy are on sale, and an extension of their Very Important Customer (VIC) card program that also provides member-only discounts.

The following weekend, the Rancher Mobile Grill will be visiting the store during select times to give away free samples of Harris Teeter Rancher Beef N.Y. strip steaks.

During the last grand opening weekend event, starting on Friday, April 16, the Harris Teeter Ice Cream Truck will be at the store, and associates will distribute free Harris Teeter brand ice cream sandwiches to customers.

The store is 48,000 square feet and will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day. It features eight check-out lanes and four USCAN self-service checkouts.

Other features and departments include: full-service meat department with Rancher Beef, HT Reserve Angus Beef and HT Natural Beef; full-service fisherman’s market; shrimp party trays; Farmers Market produce and certified “green thumb” experts; full-service floral and custom floral arrangements; produce party trays; fresh fruit bar; full-service fresh foods market deli/bakery; sushi; fresh-made salads, international cheeses, chef-prepared foods to go; custom cakes, including ice cream cakes; a made-to-order sandwich program; party trays; Boar’s Head meats and cheeses; slicing meats and cheeses; artisan breads; specialty, organic and natural foods; Western Union; Coinstar; Red Box DVD rental kiosk; double coupons; Club 60 senior discount and carryout service.
