Isaac J. ‘Bunk’ Adams, 60

Isaac J. “Bunk” Adams, 60, of Lewes Del., loving husband of Shirley, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012, surrounded by his family, at home.

Born Aug. 13, 1951, in Lewes, Adams graduated from Dover High School in 1969. He was employed by Nanticoke Homes for 13 years and Hugh H. Hickman & Sons for 13 years before having to retire due to illness. He loved water skiing and was a member of the Glassmasters Ski Team and the American Legion Post 28. He was an avid NASCAR fan, particularly of #17 Matt Kenseth.

Adams was preceded in death by his father, John O. Adams; a nephew, Jeremy Scott Adams; and a brother, Derek K. Adams. He is survived by his mother, Florence P. Adams of Georgetown; his wife of 39 years, Shirley Talley Adams; beloved canine friend Freckles; a brother, Eric Adams of Georgetown, and his wife, Karen; nephew Kris Adams of Millsboro, and his wife, Mindy; nephew and godson Jamie Adams and Tess Shewell of Milton; nephew Joseph H. Talley III of Rehoboth Beach; niece and goddaughter Jennifer Adams of Millsboro; niece Jodi Johnson of Clayton, and her husband, Wayne Ridgeway; sisters-in-law Leslie Maschauer of Georgetown, and her husband, Carl, and Joyce Talley of Florida; a brother-in-law, Joseph H. Talley Jr. of Frederica; five great-nephews, Kellan, Kasen, Sean, Brett and Bradd; two great-nieces, Hailey and Jenah; loyal friends and caregivers Kenneth LeCates and Joseph H. Talley III; a dear high school friend, Denise Smith Samons of Pickering Beach; and many extended family members and friends.

A funeral service was scheduled for July 25, 2012, at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, Del., through which condolences may be sent online at www.watsonfh.com. Interment was to follow at Cokesbury Cemetery near Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial donations to the National Brain Tumor Society; 124 Watertown St., Suite 2D; Watertown, MA 02472.
