Jimmy Lee Davis Sr., 69, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012.
Born Dec. 30, 1942, in Salisbury, Md., Davis worked as a mechanic, doing auto and auto-body repairs. He was remembered as a great person who loved working on cars and camping. He enjoyed spending time by himself, fishing and boating.
Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Carlton Henry and Bernice Mae Brown Davis, and his brothers William and Bobby. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Davis; four children, Gregory S. Davis, Randal A. Davis, Jimmie L. Davis Jr. and his wife, Vanessa, and Kimberly Collins and her husband, Isaac John; six grandchildren, Margo Parsons, Mark Davis, Ashley Davis, Kate Lind, Shelby Collins and James Stephen Davis; and six great-grandchildren, Aryanna Gaye, Paul Parsons Jr., Tommy Parsons, Wyatt Parsons, Travis Warner and Jamison Warner.
A memorial service was scheduled for noon on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington Street in Millsboro, Del. The Rev. Robert Hudson was to officiate, and interment was to be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested contributions to the American Lung Association; 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W., Suite 800; Washington, DC 20004.
