Kathleen L. Fallon, 89

Kathleen L. Fallon, 89, of Michigan City, Ind., formerly of Ocean View, Del., passed away Monday, April 9, 2012.

Fallon was born July 13, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the youngest daughter of Robert and Catherine (White) O’Connell. She grew up in Blue Point, Long Island, N.Y., and graduated from Patchogue High School at the age of 16. She worked for the federal government during World War II. In 1948, she married William P. Fallon and settled in Sayville, Long Island.

She was an employment counselor for New York State. The Fallons retired to Ocean View, where they lived for more than 30 years. Fallon enjoyed the ocean, the sunsets, the long golf season and her vegetable garden. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, Del. Following William’s death in 2007, Fallon moved to Sterling House in Michigan City, Ind., where she enjoyed the card games and saw her daughter weekly. She passed away following a long decline. She is survived by her daughter, Kristine Fallon of Chicago, Ind.

A funeral service was scheduled for Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road in Ocean View, Del., with visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Interment was to be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, Del.
