Kenneth Leonard Redman, 62
Kenneth Leonard Redman, 62, of Frankford, Del., formerly of Leon, Iowa, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012, at his home.
Redman was born Feb. 12, 1950, in Osceola, Iowa, to Elizabeth and Maurice Redman. He graduated from Central Decatur (Leon) High School in 1968. He then attended Centerville Community College for two years and Northwest Missouri State University for another two years.
Redman joined the U.S. Army in 1972, where he met his future wife of 36 years, Donna Durbano. He served for 22 years in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany, Pennsylvania, Panama and Colorado. At the conclusion of his service to his country, he began a 16-year career with the United States Postal Service. Redman loved his Sundays on the beach with friends, family, a little fishing and a cold beer.
Redman is survived by his wife, Donna Redman of Frankford; a son, Ryan Redman of Arlington, Va.; a daughter, Amy, son-in-law, Joseph Peca, and grandchildren, all of Hershey, Pa.; and a brother, Chester Redman of Leon, Iowa.
A memorial service was scheduled for Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road in Ocean View, Del. A burial service with military honors was to follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions to Milford Veterans Home; 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd.; Milford, DE 19963, or to Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Co.; P.O.
