School is usually the last place kids want to go on a Saturday, but this weekend, Lord Baltimore Elementary is the place to be.

LB will host its annual springtime Fun Festival on Saturday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students and their families can enjoy a bunch of fun activities: games, crafts, a moon bounce, train rides and of course, a teacher dunking booth.

“It’s a fun way to end the year,” said teacher and co-organizer Tammy Stong, adding that all activities are geared toward kids.

“They love it,” said principal Janet Hickman. “A fun time is had by all!”

Drinks, hotdogs and a bake sale will be available for purchase, and people can buy tickets to play the games.

Truly creating a community event, many parents and teachers have volunteered to bake or run the games. Activities will be around the school, in the cafeteria, gymnasium and playground.

The event is a small fundraiser that helps LB Elementary School purchase educational materials, like SMART Board interactive whiteboards for the classroom and the giant inflatable Earth Balloon learning program.

“Just come, and have fun!” said Stong.
