Lois J. Hudson, 95
Lois J. Hudson, 95, of Bethany Beach, Del., passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012, in her home.
Born Dec. 16, 1916, in Titusville, Pa., Hudson was remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, companion and friend. She was known to dress the way she lived. Hudson modeled for Hess Stores in Salisbury, Md. She was remembered as never having enjoyed sitting but was up doing for others and making her home an inviting place to visit.
Hudson was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ellen Mead; her first husband, Marshall Stoffle, a plant engineer; her second husband, James Earle Brown, a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army; her third husband, of 24 years, Harvey Hudson; and her brother Buddy Mead. She is survived by her son, Edward Stoffle and his wife, Esther; her daughter, Doris Edgar; a brother, Adrian Mead and his wife, Alice; a sister-in-law, Rose Mead; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a step-daughter, Evelyn Connelly and her husband, Kevin; three step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Hudson’s life was scheduled for Saturday, May 5, 2012, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7234 in Ocean View, Del. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vitas Hospice; 100 Commerce Dr., Suite 302; Newark, DE 19713. Funeral arrangements were by Williamson Funeral Home in Federalsburg, Md.
