Marianne L. Manning, 72
Marianne L. Manning, 72, of Bishopville, Md., passed away in the care of her family, at home, Thursday, April 5, 2012.
Born Nov. 28, 1939, in Frostburg, Md. Manning was remembered as an immaculate, dignified lady who was devoted to her ministry in serving within her church family and at area nursing homes. She was known for her smile, the twinkle in her eyes, and tasteful clothes and jewelry. Manning enjoyed gardening, fishing and shopping, and was an animal lover. She was very devoted to her family and will be greatly missed.
Manning was preceded in death by her parents, William L. and Kathryn Sheetz Plummer, and brother, Donald Plummer. She is survived by her husband, Elmer Manning; three children, William L. Curtis, Donald P. Curtis and David E. Curtis, and their wives, Janice, Karen and Tammy, respectively; four stepchildren, Doug, David and Gene Manning, and Shirley Stewart, and their spouses; grandchildren Josh, Jake and Jessie Curtis, Ashley, Katie, Rebekah and Rachel Curtis, Brandon Miller, Sarah Matthews and Lexi Shaub; multiple step-grandchildren; and great-grandchildren Jaya Shaub and D’Andre Matthews. She is also survived by her feline friends Ginger and Penelope, and was preceded by her beloved canine friend Buffy.
A funeral service and celebration of life were scheduled for April 11, 2012, at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, Del. Interment was to follow on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the Lakemount Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested contributions to the SonRise Church Backpack Ministry; 10959 Worcester Hwy.; Berlin, MD 21811.
