Marylou Sheehan Roessler, 85

Marylou Sheehan Roessler, 85, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on Feb. 22, 1927, Roessler lived most of her life in the Washington, D.C., area and retired to the Delaware shore in the early 1990s. She was known to truly love the beach and be grateful to spend her “golden years” in the area.

Roessler was preceded in death by her son, John W. Sheehan, in 2005. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, James “Jim” Roessler of Dagsboro. Her first marriage, to J.W. Sheehan, ended in divorce. She is also survived by her children, Jessica Barbour, Robert Sheehan, Mary Kate Sheehan (Bega) and Judy Jamison. She also leaves nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A Mass of the Resurrection was scheduled for Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St Ann’s Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, Del. A reception was to follow at The Greens at Indian River, 502 Mid Ocean Drive in Dagsboro, Del. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Delaware. 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
