Milton ‘Milt’ Logan, 88

Milton “Milt” Logan, 88, of Lewes, Del., passed away peacefully Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.

Born Dec. 16, 1923, in Columbus, Ohio, Logan honorably served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed a long career with Giant Food of Landmark, Md., serving as a store manager throughout the District of Columbia and Maryland. He retired in 1984 with a reputation for being dedicated to the company and well-respected by his employees.

Following his retirement, Logan pursued his passion for the food industry by owning and operating two delicatessens and a restaurant in Maryland. Logan was an active member of Groome United Methodist Church and took responsibility for coordinating the church plant sales. He enjoyed all sports, especially golf and the Redskins. He was an avid fisherman and was dedicated to Meals on Wheels. He particularly enjoyed going to flea markets and auctions with his wife, Betty.

Logan was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Brady and Naomi Frances (Kreemer) Logan, and a daughter, Beverly Jean Logan, in 1952. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Marie “Betty” (Downing) Logan; his son, David Earl Robinson of Bowie, Md.; a daughter, Barbara Dianne Vargo of Selbyville, Del.; six grandchildren, Tara, Mara, Cara, Sarah, David Robinson Jr. and Kimberly; his sister, Lilly Keys of San Bernardino, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were scheduled for April 9, 2012, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium in Lewes, Del., with interment to take place at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Groome United Methodist Church; P.O. Box 299; Lewes, DE 19958.
