Outstanding Indian: Amy Mitchell

Despite a long, tough season, junior field hockey goalie Amy Mitchell has held her own in the cage this year, helping to bring the team together and establish leadership.

“The whole team is working really hard this year,” she said. “At the beginning, it was more of a chemistry thing. We’re all friends with everyone, and as the season goes on, we’re definitely communicating more, and players are offering constructive criticism. Even though we’ve had some losses, our games are definitely improving, and we’re giving it everything as the season goes on.”

“While we have a lot of talented players on the team,” said field hockey head coach Katie Holloway, “Amy has done a great job in goal for us. She has really kept the games from going into double digit blowouts. She’s a strong player and she’s not afraid to get dirty.”
