TOWN OF OCEAN VIEW PUBLIC NOTICE OF ELECTION

The Town of Ocean View will hold its annual election between the hours of

8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Town Hall located at
32 West Avenue.

Any resident who wishes to vote in this election must be a Town of Ocean View eligible registered voter; i.e., they must register with the Town of Ocean View in order to vote in its elections—County or State registration does not entitle residents to vote in Town elections. The deadline to register to vote in the Town of Ocean View’s annual election is 4:30 p.m., March 31, 2008, and identification will be required when you register to vote. The qualifications for Ocean View voters are:
• Minimum age of 18 years
• Citizen of the United States
• Ocean View residency for at least 6 months immediately preceding the election
• No felony convictions

One Candidate will be selected as Mayor. Gordon Wood and Vincent Esposito have been qualified for this position.

One Candidate will be selected as Councilperson for District 3. Perry Mitchell, Susan White, Joseph Martinez, and Wally Brown have been qualified for this position.

Absentee ballots are available for any resident who is not able to vote at the Town Hall on April 12, 2008. Any Town of Ocean View eligible registered voter who needs to obtain an absentee ballot by mail should call the Town Hall at 302 539-9797, ext.1, and an affidavit will be mailed to you. After receipt of the affidavit, the absentee ballot will be mailed to you. If you prefer, you may come to the Town Hall between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to complete the affidavit and receive an absentee ballot. The affidavit must be filed with the Town no later than 12 noon on the day before the election; i.e., April 11, 2008. Absentee ballots must be received by close of the election; i.e., 5 p.m. on April 12, 2008. Identification will be required for anyone who wishes to obtain an absentee ballot.

All residents who are registered in the Town of Ocean View are urged to vote in this election. Identification will be required on Election Day in order to vote.
