Vivian Stotler, 66, of Harbeson, Del., passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Delaware Hospice Center early on Jan. 2, 2018, after a spirited and determined two-year battle with cancer. Born in Washington D.C. to Elio and Mary Serra, she was the second daughter of three children. With her older sister, Evelyn, and younger brother, David, she grew up in Hyattsville Md.

Stotler attended and graduated from Highpoint High School and attended the University of Maryland while working for the U.S. Department of Justice, in the antitrust division, as a paralegal. She retired after 30 years of service to fight and win her first battle with cancer.

Stotler loved her family, friends, dogs and cats — both rescues and AKC champions. She loved to travel and got to see many places, such as Italy with her daughter; England, Ireland and Scotland with her husband, Rod; and the Bahamas with her family; as well as up and down the East Coast.

Stotler leaves behind her husband of 32 years, Roderick; her two children, Greg and Leanne; and numerous nieces and nephews. She lived a very happy life in Harbeson.

A viewing and Mass of Christian burial were scheduled for Jan. 10, 2018, at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Lewes, Del. Condolences may be sent online at www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
