WEATHER ALERT: Wind advisory in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J., has issued a wind advisory, which is in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Strong gusty winds will accompany an Arctic cold front that will move through the region late Monday night. The strong gusty winds will then continue through Tuesday. Winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. These strong winds might even knock down some trees, due to the wet ground from recent rains. Also, temperatures will be very cold.

This combination will result in wind chill values below zero in the Poconos and northwest New Jersey. Farther south, wind chill values will drop to the single digits above zero. Those who plan on venturing outside on Tuesday should be sure to bundle up.

A wind advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
