Fenwick Island

• Fenwick Island’s Parks and Recreation Committee will host a Memorial Day event in the town’s park on Saturday, May 28, at 11 a.m. Those wishing to honor local veterans are being encouraged to attend.

• The Fenwick Island Beach Patrol will commence lifeguard coverage on the town’s beaches Saturday, May 28, and running through the Memorial Day weekend. Lifeguard service will also be offered June 4 and 5, with full-time coverage beginning June 11 and extending through Labor Day, followed by limited weekend coverage. Hours for guarded beaches in the town are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bethany Beach

• The Bethany Beach Beach Patrol will be on duty daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day and weekends throughout September. The town’s beach is guarded from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, and 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

• The annual bandstand entertainment series hosted by Bethany Beach will kick off Saturday, May 28, at 7:30 p.m. with a performance by Randy Lee Ashcraft & Saltwater Cowboys. The series will feature a variety of musical, dance, comedy and other performers throughout the summer, with most performances scheduled for 7:30 p.m. For a full schedule of events, call the performance hotline at 539-5484 or visit the town’s Web site at www.townofbethanybeach.com.

• Bethany Beach will host a Memorial Day service at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 30, at the town’s bandstand.

• The Seaside Craft Show Committee will meet Thursday, June 2, at 9 a.m. at the town hall to discuss final preparations for the inaugural fine-craft show, to be held on the Bethany Beach boardwalk starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4.
