The Agenda
Selbyville
• Selbyville Town Council will meet Monday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m., at town hall (68 West Church St.). Council will recap the results of the water/sewer referendum, host regular monthly visitors from Mountaire and give an update on (1) repairs to the water tower and (2) Pop Warner football.
• Engineer Chuck Hauser is scheduled to deliver a report on town sewer, and Council Member Jay Murray is slated to discuss a variance, and a proposed commercial project the applicants plan to build a store at Route 113 and Hosier Street Ext. Council Member Clarence Tingle will present Bruce and Sandra Bennett’s annexation request, and Council Member Richard Duncan will give a report on dilapidated homes. Council Member Gary Taylor will update on three development projects Sandy Branch, Victoria Forest and Barklay Estates and a Delaware Economic Development meeting.
Frankford
• Frankford Town Council will meet Monday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m., at town hall (5 Main St.).
South Bethany
• South Bethany Town Council will meet Friday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m., at town hall (402 Evergreen Rd.).
Ocean View
• The town will host a special Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Commission meeting on Thursday, Sept. 15, at 3 p.m., at town hall (32 West Ave.), for a discussion regarding the establishment of design standards for the Route 26 corridor.
• The P&Z will meet later that evening, at 7 p.m., for regular monthly business. On the agenda, review of two site plans one for construction of nine townhouses on roughly 1.9 acres of land, at 32 Atlantic Ave. (Route 26) and the other for subdivision of two acres into four lots, at 2 Central Ave.
• Under new business, two public hearings (1) review of a preliminary subdivision plan for nine lots on roughly 3.8 acres at 49 Woodland Ave. and (2) review of a conditional use application, for a wine and cheese shop in Bear Trap a new site plan for a gravel parking lot on 5.1 acres at 81 Central Ave. (submitted on behalf of Mariner’s Bethel U.M.) and review of an ordinance that would require applicants to submit site plans well in advance of the next scheduled P&Z meeting.
Bethany Beach
• The Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts festival, sponsored by the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce, is set for Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the town’s boardwalk.
• The Bethany Beach Town Council will meet Friday, Sept. 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the town hall. The agenda for the meeting includes.
• The Bethany Beach Planning Commission will meet Saturday, Sept. 17, at 9 a.m. at the town hall.
Fenwick Island
• The Fenwick Island Town Council will host a “workshop without agenda” on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 9 a.m. at the town hall.
• The Fenwick Island Beautification Committee will meet Monday, Sept. 12, at 9 a.m. at the town hall.
