The Agenda
Ocean View
• Ocean View Town Council will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m., at town hall (32 West Ave.). On the agenda, three second readings (and, pending favorable votes, enactment) of ordinances: (1) designating various parcels along Route 26 as General Business, (2) amending the personnel policy manual to make part-time employees with 10 years of seniority eligible for holiday pay, and (3) requiring applicants submit their site plans by the 15th of the month, in the month prior to the town Planning and Zoning Commission meeting when their site plan will be discussed.
o Council will hold first readings on ordinances: (1) to annex Regina O’Rourke’s 1.1-acre parcel, (2) to facilitate the purchase/award of emergency-related materials/contracts less than $22,500 during a state of emergency, and (3) to amend the personnel policy manual to reimburse workers for food expenses incurred during a state of emergency.
o Under new business, discussion regarding ordinances to: (1) impose a 180-day moratorium on “towers,” (2) schedule plan submissions for subdivisions, as noted above for site plans, (3) align Residential and General Business regulations, in pursuit of design standards, (4) create a new single-lot development ordinance, (5) consider leasing a temporary police facility, and (6) make a few budget adjustments.
o Under old business, discussion and consideration regarding: (1) a conditional-use application for a shop in Bear Trap that would sell wine and spirits, (2) appointment of new members to the Long-Range Financial Planning Committee, (3) a bid package for the new police station, and an associated bid package for financial services, (4) and a bid award for property tax re-evaluation and a three-year contract for assessment services.
Frankford
• Frankford Town Council will meet on Monday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m., at town hall (5 Main St.).
Sussex County
• Sussex County Council will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m., at the County Administrative Building (2 The Circle, Georgetown). Council is slated to introduce five ordinance, relating to (1) addressing and street naming, (2) sharing of required parking serving multiple uses within the same project and under the same ownership, (3) reduction in size to an off-street parking space and to allow a reduction in size for compact cars under certain circumstances, (4) reduction to the width of parking lot interior drives, from 25 feet to 24 feet, and (5) deletion of “three per family unit” and substitution of “two per dwelling unit” (off-street parking for multifamily housing). Council will also consider a wastewater agreement for Canal Woods at Waterside, near Bethany Beach.
Selbyville
• The Selbyville Town Council will meet on Monday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. at the town hall.
