Ocean View
• Ocean View’s Long-Range Financial Planning Committee (LRFPC) will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 4:30 p.m., at town hall, to discuss and review: (1) expenditures by the various departments, and (2) revenues.
• Ocean View Town Council will meet later that same evening (Tuesday, Jan. 3), at 7 p.m.
Three public hearings will precede the regular council meeting: (1) second reading of an ordinance aligning residential uses with General Business (GB) zoning district requirements, along the newly-rezoned Route 26 corridor, (2) first reading of an ordinance related to fees for building repairs, and (3) first reading of an ordinance relating to town employees’ contributions to municipal/police pension plans.
Under new business, council is slated to discuss: (1) draft legislation, proposed at the state level, that would govern municipal elections, and (2) an ordinance relating to the serving of alcoholic liquor at outdoor restaurants.
Dagsboro
Dagsboro’s Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Commission will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 7 p.m., at the Bethel Center (107 Clayton Street). The P&Z plans to tackle a sign ordinance, rule on Eric Ankrom’s request for subdivision at 29117 Piney Neck Road, and review and discuss: (1) possible amendment to road-width standards, as discussed by the Dagsboro Fire Department, and (2) recommendations to council on a set of new zoning ordinances, related to definitions for apartments and the maximum number of apartments permitted in a single building. Revision of the town’s Comprehensive Plan is listed under additional business (if time permits).
Fenwick Island
The Fenwick Island Beautification Committee will meet Monday, Jan. 2, at 9 a.m. at the town hall.
Sussex County
Sussex County Council will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 10 a.m., in the County Administrative Office Building at 2 The Circle in Georgetown.
Sussex County Planning & Zoning (P&Z)
The Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 3 p.m. in the County Council Chambers in Georgetown.
Selbyville
The Selbyville Town Council has rescheduled its January meeting to Monday, Jan. 9, from Monday, Jan. 2, due to the New Year’s holiday.
Bethany Beach
Bethany Beach Town Hall will be closed Monday, Jan. 2, for the New Year’s holiday.
