Board prayer allowed with settlement
A settlement offered by the plaintiffs in the Dobrich/Doe prayer suit and denied unanimously by the Indian River School board on Feb. 27 would have allowed board members to continue opening monthly meetings with a prayer, a board member and two other sources close to the case told the Coastal Point.

Three killed, five injured in accident
Three people were killed and five were injured on June 8 in a two-pickup truck crash near Frankford that occurred at about 6:35 p.m. Frankford resident Freiner Rosales, 21, who was driving the Dodge pickup involved in the accident and two of his passengers, Selbyville 20-year-old Diego Rodriguez and Victor Rosales, 19, of Frankford were pronounced dead at the scene. Three other passengers of the Dodge and a driver and passenger of another pickup were seriously injured in the wreck.

Fallout from museum decision continues

Visitors from throughout the area came out to tour the new fire hall, see the company’s fire equipment up close, get a glimpse of the new SkyArm truck in action and get safety tips from a variety of emergency agencies.

Since late 2004, Selbyville Police Chief Scott Collins has been sifting through minutes of old town meetings and copies of local newspapers archived in Dover and Selbyville or at various news organizations’ headquarters, searching for information on the town and department’s history.
